MAHAKAVI BHARATI BIRTH ANNIV AT DAV CSPUR (
Bhubaneswar: The Union Ministry of Education is celebrating the birth anniversary of Mahakavi Subramania Bharati as Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav to enjoy the beauty of language diversity. A series of activities were conducted at the DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar, on the occasion. Principal Dr Sujata Sahu paid rich tributes to Mahakavi Bharati. Theme song, folk dance, drawing competition on My Language My Pride, signature campaign on My Signature in my Mother Tongue, extempore by students and teachers registered the essence of the day. Senior teacher Dr K Daizy Rani highlighted the contributions of the polyglot poet Bharati.
SVM STUDENTS PERFORM CULTURAL EVENTS UNDER NUA-O
Jagatsinghpur: As part of the Nua-O initiative towards empowering youths, SVM College students performed a colourful cultural programme on several social subjects on Saturday. College Principal Bijaya Kumar Patra inaugurated the programme in which students performed street plays and sang songs on the subjects of road safety, dowry eradication, environmental protection, girl child fortification, liquor prohibition and eradication of illiteracy in society. Students performed a similar cultural event at the local bus-stand, drawing huge public attendance. The programme was coordinated by college Lecturers Ananta Gopal Acharya, Prasanta Behera, Subhashree Nayak and Babena Das and Plus Two Nodal Officer Subhendu Nanda.
JSPUR BEEKEEPER FELICITATED AT OUAT
Jagatsinghpur: Jagatsinghpur beekeeper Ashok Kumar Sarangi, a resident of Baliakani village under Erasama block, was felicitated in a celebration held in OUAT Bhubaneswar for Comb honey production. Sarangi, who started bee farming in his village from the mid-Seventies, is also a trainer giving guidance to bee cultivators in Odisha. OUAT Chancellor Prof Prabhat Kumar Roul, Prof Sangram Keshari Swain, among others, were present.
10-DAY M’BHANJ PUSTAK MELA FROM DEC 15
Baripada: The tenth Mayurbhanj district level annual book fair "Mayurbhanj Pustak Mela" will commence here on December 15. The 10-day-long fair will continue till December 24 at Chhow Padia, said Pustak Mela Committee president Padmanabh Sahoo.
A preparatory meeting of the committee was held here recently, attended by several writers, literature-lovers and intellectuals of the district. MAJOR PORT CULTURAL MEET CONCLUDES
Paradip: The 23rd All India Major Port Cultural Meet 2023-24 held here came to an end on Sunday. The Paradip Port Authority along with Major Ports Sports Control Board successfully organised the cultural extravaganza. Gracing the valedictory function as chief guest, PPA Chairman PL Haranadh thanked the participants for entertaining the people of port township for the last four days.
