azad releases book

New Delhi:  Former Union Minister and senior politician Ghulam Nabi Azad released a book ‘Jawahar’ on the life and times of Jawaharlal Darda, a freedom fighter, politician and journalist. Speaking at the function in New Delhi, Azad said that nowadays the rift between the politicians is getting wider and bitterness has taken over.  The book was originally written by Aprna Velenkar and the Hindi version is done by Kiran Moghey. The congress leader in the Lok Sabha, Adhir Ranjan, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Ramdas Athawale, Vinod Tawde, National General Secretary of the BJP, Janardan Dwivedi, Minister of State for health SP Singh Baghel the veteran congress leader were prominent leaders presents as guest of honour.

Congress appoints observers to 14 districts

New Delhi: Delhi Congress on Tuesday appointed observers to all the 14 districts in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, officials said.  These observers will work at the ground level to strengthen the party in coordination with the party leadership at the district level, an official statement said. Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Arvinder Singh Lovely announced the names of the observers, it said.  Lovely said that a joint meeting of the district Congress committees and observers will be held this week.  These observers will make the recommendations for the appointment of active workers as presidents to all the 280 Blocks and other posts of office-bearers, he said.The observers will hold meetings with senior leaders, and various categories of workers before finalising the names of the block presidents and office-bearers unanimously, he said.

 

74th all india commerce conference soon

New Delhi: The Delhi University and O P Jindal Global University have joined hands to host the 74th All India Commerce Conference from December 13 to 15, a statement said on Tuesday. The theme of the annual conference this year is ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’ and Delhi Lt Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena will be the chief guest at the inaugural session while more than 2,500 delegates from India and abroad are expected to take part in the event. The Delhi University’s Department of Commerce, Faculty of Commerce and Business, and Delhi School of Economics will host the AICC of the Indian Commerce Association, the statement said.  Delhi University Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh will preside over the inaugural session and Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya will be the chief guest at the valedictory session, it said.
