Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti celebrated

New Delhi: Maharaja Agrasen College, a constituent college of Delhi University, celebrated the grand occasion of Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti. The keynote address was delivered by chief guest, Subhash Gupta, president of Maharaja Agrasen Hospital Trust, who emphasised the importance of Maharaja Agrasen's legacy. During the event, Prof Sanjeev Kumar Tiwari, the Principal of the college, highlighted Maharaja Agrasen's visionary perspective and its relevance in today's context. Suresh Jain, the National Organisation secretary of Bharat Vikas Parishad, presided over the event and spoke about Maharaja Agrasen's contributions in uplifting the country and society through his social, economic, and entrepreneurial endeavours.

Students paticipate in global handwashing day

New Delhi: Students of various schools and colleges from Delhi under the Sulabh School Sanitation club took part in the Global Hand-washing day at Rajiv Chowk in the national capital on Sunday, according to a satement.

1,300 kg firecrackers seized

New Delhi:  The Delhi Police has seized around 1,300 kg of firecrackers and arrested three people in south Delhi, police said on Monday.  Police received a tip-off that a huge stock of firecrackers was kept in two different locations in Kotla Mubarak Pur area, Deputy Commissioner of Police (south) Chandan Chowdhary.  Teams conducted raids at a shop in Punjabi Bazar, Kotla Mubarak Pur and Gurdwara Road Market, recovered the firecrackers and arrested Yogender (62), Akash Vashishith (35) and Kishan Lal (60), he said.

Govt disburses `1 cr to covid warrior’s family

New Delhi : The Delhi Government on Monday disbursed an ex-gratia of `one crore to the family members of 53-year-old employee of a city hospital who lost his life fighting Covid-19, an official statement said.  It has been provided on behalf of the Delhi Government's scheme for Covid warriors who lost their lives during the pandemic, it said.
