IMD Ranchi forecast heavy rain on July 3

The Meteorological Department has forecast that momentum is building in different parts of Jharkhand regarding monsoon rains. The situation will change after July 3. The deficit of monsoon rains of two days will be fulfilled. On July 3, there is a possibility of heavy rain at some places in the north eastern parts.

On July 5 and 6, there will be light to moderate rain with thunder at almost all places in the state. There is no possibility of any major change in the maximum temperature in the state during the next five days.

IMD Ranchi Meteorologist, Abhishek Anand informed that from June 1 to June 30, there has been normal rainfall in 3 districts of the State. He said that Sahebganj, Simdega and Dumka districts have received normal rainfall in the month of June while 15 districts received less rainfall than normal and six districts received much less rainfall.

Anand said that the State normally receives 189.5 mm of rain in the month of June, but so far the actual rainfall record is 108.5 mm. In this way, till now the state has received 43 percent less rainfall than normal. He told that Chatra, Dhanbad, Giridih, East Singhbhum, Koderma, Jamtara, Hazaribagh, Latehar Ramgarh and Seraikela Kharsawan districts received 50 percent less rainfall than normal. Those six districts have received less than 60 per cent rainfall.

There has been a decrease in monsoon in Jharkhand since last two days. However, in the last 24 hours, light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder occurred at almost all places in the State. According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rains also occurred at some places. During this, maximum rainfall of 110 mm has been recorded in Rajmahal. In the last 24 hours, 74.5 mm of rain was received in Sahibganj, 65 mm in Kolebira and 54.2 mm in Jamshedpur. While Simdega received 45.4 mm of rain, Godda 42.2 mm, Daltonganj 19.5 mm, Lohardaga 20.2 mm and Ranchi 3.2 mm.
