IIM Ranchi, extending its vision to provide academic excellence, has unveiled and inaugurated the 16th edition of the ISDSI (International Society for Data Sciences and Innovation) Global Conference 2023 on December 27 2023, centering around the theme - “Reimagining Globalization: The Power of Digital Interconnection in a Deglobalizing World.”
 
Poised to address the shifting dynamics of globalization and deglobalization - in the face of changing geopolitical landscapes and emerging protectionist policies, this distinguished conference invites scholars, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers worldwide to engage in a scholarly dialogue. As the world navigates through the complexities of a deglobalising environment, exploring and understanding the evolving paradigms that shape global interactions becomes crucial. The conference focuses on 4 key sub-themes: Internationalization, Social Impact, Innovativeness, and Impactful Research.
 
The event graces with  the presence of Prof. Jagdish N. Sheth, Charles H. Kellstadt Professor of Business, Goizueta Business School, Emory University as the Keynote Speaker; D Shivakumar, Operating Partner at Advent International as the Chief Guest; Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Director, IIM Ranchi; Prof. Bhimaraya Metri, Director, IIM Nagpur and President, ISDSI-Global; Prof. Ravi Kumar Jain, Secretary, ISDSI-Global and Director, Sparsh Global Business School, Greater Noida; and the conference Co-Chairs- Prof. Rajesh Jain, Prof. Ambuj Anand, and Prof Arindra Nath Mishra.
 
Prof. Rajesh Jain said that the three days of the conference is filled with lots of intellectual discussions, panel sessions, workshops and parallel presentations. He noted that the conference received a total of 593 submissions, written by 1078 authors across the globe including all IIMs, IITs, leading premier Business School and management department of Central Universities.  More than 218 institutions across the globe have been the contributors of the conference. The conference also saw the presence of 570 attendees.
 
Prof Deepak Kumar Srivastava highlighted that this is the first conference on the campus. He mentioned the strategic plan of the institute “IIM Ranchi @ 2030” having four strategic priorities: Education, Impactful Research, International Collaboration and Social Impact which are aligned with the theme and sub-themes of the conference. He mentioned the hosting of a conference on Social Impact in 2024.
 
Prof. Ravi Kumar Jain mentioned the 17 years of journey of the ISDSI and the achievements of ISDSI. Prof. Bhimaraya Metri addressed the gathering. He noted the growth of ISDSI, which has become a prominent body of all the regional DSI bodies.
 
During the inaugural session of the conference, the “ISDSI Global Conference 2023- Book of Abstracts” was launched.
 
The event ended with the Vote of Thanks presented by Prof. Ambuj Anand to all concerned for the extraordinary support for making the event successful.
