The Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal commenced a three-day training programme on Mission LiFE - Lifestyle for Environment on December 18, 2023. The training programme is attended by 20 professionals from diverse domains from various parts of the country. The inaugural session was chaired by Dr K. Ravichandran, Director, IIFM; Dr C.P. Kala, Chairperson (MDP), IIFM and Dr Yogesh Dubey, Programme Director, IIFM.
In his inaugural address, Dr K Ravichandran emphasized the urgent need for individual behavioural change in response to present global developmental and environmental challenges. He said, "By instigating changes in our habits and encouraging those around us to adopt sustainable practices, we can lead to a significant positive impact on the environment and make substantial strides in mitigating the adverse effects of climate change." He also highlighted the seven key themes of this initiative i.e. Save Water, Save Energy, Reduce Waste, Reduce E-waste, Say No to Single-Use Plastic, Adopt a Healthy Lifestyle, and Adopt a Sustainable Food System.
This three-day training program features sessions led by distinguished experts, covering essential topics such as Mission LiFE - Overview of Thematic areas, Behaviour-Based Solutions for Pro-Planet-People, Water Crisis: Challenges and Solutions, Managing Urban Green and Blue Spaces and Adopting Sustainable Food Systems, etc.
