The Uttar Pradesh government has placed 2011 batch IAS officer Abhishek Singh under suspension. He was not attending the office for the last 82 days without prior approval of superior officers.
Additional Chief Secretary (Appointment and Personnel) Devesh Chaturvedi issued the order for suspension of Abhishek Singh on Wednesday.
Earlier, Abhishek Singh was suspended from service in 2014 for alleged misbehaviour with a primary school teacher.
Abhishek Singh was sent to Gujarat by the Election Commission of India as election observer for the state assembly elections held in November 2022. He had not reported for duty in Gujarat. The poll panel had issued a notice to him on November 18 last year. He had not reported for duty and was absent.
