Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Monday chaired a meeting of the High-Power Land Purchase Committee (HPLPC) in which approval was granted for the purchase of approximately 148 acres of land through the E-Bhoomi portal for six projects in five districts--Charkhi Dadri, Faridabad, Hisar, Jind, and Sirsa with the consent of landowners. The land cost is estimated to be around Rs 96 crore.

During a video conference with the respective Deputy Commissioners, Khattar directed them to ensure the registration of these lands within a month and expedite the implementation of proposed projects after acquiring the land.

Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala and Energy Minister Ranjit Singh were also present at the meeting. Additionally, landowners who expressed their consent to provide land for government projects also joined the meeting through video conferencing from the respective districts.

In the meeting, approval was given for the purchase of 5.39 acres of land for the construction of canal-based water supply schemes in Barodi, Jhanjkalan, Jind. This water works facility will have a capacity of 6 MLD. Furthermore, approximately 35 acres of land were approved for the construction of water works in the village of Rania, district Sirsa. Approval was also given to purchase 4 acres of land for expansion of OP Jindal Nalwa Distributory in Hisar district.

During the meeting, approval was given to purchase about 98 acres of land in village Bhairvi for the construction of District Jail in Charkhi Dadri. Apart from this, approval was given to purchase about 1 acre of land for construction of RUB at railway line crossing from Delhi – Mathura Road to Mujesar in Faridabad, 5.12 acres of land for construction of STP for upgrading water works at Bass Town in Hisar district.

Khattar said that land acquisition used to be a lengthy process, causing delays in various development projects. Therefore, the government has developed a system under which land has been purchased with the consent of farmers and landowners through the e-Bhoomi portal, facilitating a faster implementation of projects.

Landowners who participated in the meeting praised the government's transparent approach to land purchase for government projects through the E-Bhoomi portal. They expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister and highlighted that the present government prioritises the welfare of farmers and the underprivileged.
