Sextortion accused Archana Nag was on Tuesday released from the Jharpada jail here. She had been arrested and remanded to judicial custody around 14 months ago.
Archana’s husband Jagabandhu Chand came to the jail to receive her.
The Orissa High Court had on December 4 granted bail to Archana in a honeytrap case registered by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
Earlier, Archana had been granted bail in a blackmailing case and a sextortion case.
She has been directed by the court to cooperate with the investigation process and not to influence witnesses.
“I will not remain silent over injustice. I will expose everyone. Law will ensure appropriate action against the accused. The case is currently sub-judice. I will extend my cooperation to the investigators,” she said while speaking to mediapersons outside the jail.
Notably, the ED has been investigating a high-profile honeytrap case involving Archana, her husband Jagabandhu and their associates Khageswar Patra and Shradhanjali Behera on the basis of a blackmailing case filed by Ollywood filmmaker Akshay Parija.
Archana is accused of extorting money from influential persons by blackmailing them with videos of intimate moments between her and them.
