Thursday, 01 June 2023 | PNS | CUTTACK

9, Pithapur, Cuttack in 1932 was the headquarters of legendary revolutionary and martyr of India’s freedom struggle Bhagabati Charan Panigrahi. In 1972 this was the address for the then CM of Odisha Nandini Satpathy. Since 2022 the address serves as the headquarters of Nandini Satpathy Memorial Trust (SNSMT) chairman Suparno Satpathy.

Chief Historian of Freedom Struggle Museums, Government of India Prof Kapil Kumar along with a team paid a visit to the spot recently. Prof Kumar delivered a key note address on ‘Who Made India Free’ at Saheed Bhawan.

The place held a very significant role in the history of India’s freedom. It used to be a secret meeting spot of several revolutionaries which include Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
