Heavy rains are likely to occur in several district of the State during the next 24 hours due to the low-pressure area over south Jharkhand and its neighbourhood.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday issued an Orange warning for the next 24 hours.
The IMD said the low-pressure area now lies over southwest Jharkhand and adjoining north Chhattisgarh.
Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places in the districts of Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Khordha, Puri, Nuapada, Balangir, Subarnapur and Boudh and at many places of rest districts.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) is very likely to occur in the districts of Bargarh, Subarnapur, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Deogarh and Angul on Tuesday.
The weather office also issued a Yellow warning and said heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is likely to occur in the districts of Balangir, Boudh, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Baleswar, Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Cuttack and Sundargarh on Tuesday.
Also, heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur in the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Jajpur, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Dhenkanal, Balangir, Subarnapur, Sundargarh and Jharsuguda on Wednesday, the IMD said issuing a Yellow warning.
