Haryana has been selected for the ‘National Energy Conservation Award (NECA)-2023’ due to its outstanding performance in the State Energy Efficiency Index. The state will be awarded the second prize in the State Energy Efficiency Performance Award, said the Bureau of Energy Efficiency’s (BBE) director-general Abhay Bakre, adding that the Award Committee of the Ministry of Power has finalized the winners.
President Draupadi Murmu will present the award to the winners at a ceremony organized at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, on National Energy Conservation Day, December 14, he added.
“I am proud that our state has received national recognition for its efforts in energy conservation,” said the Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, adding that the BJP-led State Government successfully implemented numerous energy conservation projects and embraced new technologies.
He said that considering energy usage in public transport and industries, we have introduced new schemes for conservation and sustainability. “We have also encouraged people to practice energy conservation and have taken positive steps to create awareness about its importance. You too should come forward and strengthen the government's efforts towards greater energy conservation,” he added.
