Haryana Police arrests 5 for doctor’s murder in Kurukshetra

Haryana Police on Tuesday claimed to have cracked the sensational doctor’s murder that took place in Kurukshetra on January 9 within 15 hours and arrested five miscreants who had looted cash and jewelry after a brief exchange of fire.

A spokesman of Haryana Police said that when the police team chased the accused on Pehwa-Dhand road and asked them to surrender, the miscreants started firing at the team. In retaliation, one of the accused got injured and was admitted to the hospital for treatment. Police have also recovered 4 desi katta and one country-made pistol from their possession.

Out of the five accused, four are residents of district Kaithal and one hails from district Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh.

The accused of killing a lady Doctor in Sector-13, Kurukshetra had escaped after committing loot in the house. The Superintendent of Police Kurukshetra Surinder Singh Bhoria had constituted a Special Investigation Team to crack the case. Working on the intelligence and other inputs, police arrested the accused after a brief exchange of fire.

On January 9, the accused entered a house located on the first floor of Atul Clinic in Kurukshetra and killed lady Doctor Vinita Arora besides looting cash and jewelry.  They murdered a 60-year-old woman doctor at her home in Sector-13 Urban Estate.
The victim used to bake and sell cakes and biscuits from a bakery at her home as a hobby while her husband Atul Arora is also a doctor.  According to employees of Atul Arora's clinic, four persons came to the clinic around 9 pm and went upstairs to take delivery of a cake. When Atul Arora went up to the first floor after attending to patients, the accused allegedly held him at gunpoint and looted cash and jewelry.

As the accused went inside the adjoining room, he jumped from the first floor and called his neighbors for help. He also dialed the police. When he returned to the clinic, he found the accused had left with the loot and his wife lying in one of the rooms, covered in blood.
