A Gram Rojgar Sevak (GRS) was killed following an attack allegedly by an unidentified man in Ganjam district on Friday.
According to reports, Sukant Kumar Panigrahi, a Gram Rojgar Sevak of Karadabadi and Sankuru gram panchayats, was stabbed with a knife while he was travelling by his motorcycle from his village Kalamba to the Buguda block office at around 11 am.
Panigrahi sustained critical injuries in the attack. Locals rushed him to the Buguda Community Health Centre (CHC) in a critical condition. Following primary treatment, he was referred to the MKCG Medical College Hospital in Brahmapur. However, he succumbed to his injuries while being shifted to Brahmapur.
On receiving information, police reached the hospital and initiated a probe into the incident.
