When the state government decided to withdraw the cases filed against ST/SC students during the Bharat Bandh on 2 April 2018, the Tribal Students Union and all the tribal-indigenous organizations and a large number of students reached the Chief Minister's residential office and expressed gratitude while welcoming Chief Minister Hemant Soren here on Thursday. While addressing the students, the CM said that he had fought for his Jharkhandi soul. You were beaten with sticks. Cases were filed against you. We too were pained to see this. In such a situation, when our government was formed, we considered such matters with full sensitivity and were continuously taking decisions in the interest of the tribals and indigenous people of Jharkhand.
The CM said that there is a gang in the state which is confusing the tribals and indigenous people and is also trying to influence the working style of the government. We have to remain alert from such gangs. He said that all the people working here will have to learn to live together with the tribals and natives and take care of their feelings.
The CM said that our government is continuously taking many decisions keeping in mind the interests, hopes and aspirations of Jharkhand and the people of Jharkhand. The results of our decisions have started to be seen and the coming generations will take advantage of it more strongly.
Soren said that before the formation of our government, the application fee for the examinations conducted by JPSC and JSSC was very high, which our government decided to reduce. Now the government will soon take a decision on completely waiving the application fees for competitive examinations. He told the students to concentrate completely on their studies. You are being given financial help from the government for preparing for competitive exams and doing various courses. The government is also giving 100 per cent scholarship for studies abroad.
The CM said that whether it is government sector or private. The government is continuously working towards providing employment to the youth on a large scale. He said that recruitment has been done on thousands of vacant posts in many departments and the recruitment process for many posts is going on. You have faith in this government. No rigging of any kind will be allowed in appointments.
The CM said that now the students will live in hostels equipped with all facilities. The renovation work of the hostels of the Welfare Department is going on at a fast pace. Now the students living here will not need to bring grains from home. The government will provide food grains to all the hostels and there will also be cooks and security guards.
The CM said that the maximum number of tribals, Dalits and backward classes are lodged in the jails of Jharkhand. They have been serving jail sentences for many years in ordinary cases because they do not have the money to post bail. In such a situation, resources will be made available by the government to ensure that they get bail.
During this, hundreds of students including the President of Tribal Students Union, Sanjay Mali, Sumati Kumari and Surabali were present.
