Govt land worth Rs 52 crore freed from encroachment near temple

District administration staff took major action to remove encroachments from the government temple land.

Precious government land worth more than Rs 52 crore was freed from encroachers in the action.

In Indore, under the direction of Collector Ilaiyaraaja T, the district administration staff is continuously taking action to free the government lands from encroachment. In this connection on Wednesday a major action was taken by the district administration staff to remove illegal encroachment and encroachment from the land of a government temple. In this action, valuable government land worth more than Rs 52 crore was freed.

This fact came to the notice of Collector Ilaiyaraaja T that the land of Government Maruti Temple located near Robot intersection of village Khajrana is being encroached upon by illegally occupying it and constructing liquor shops, glass factory and houses. Collector Dr. Ilaiyaraaja T ordered immediate investigation. After the investigation instructions given by the Collector, SDM Juni Indore  Ghanshyam Dhangar and Tehsildar Jagdish Randhawa, the said valuable land of village Khajrana situated in the middle of Indore city, Khasra number 532/1470, 532/1471 which is Madhya Pradesh Maruti Mandir Administrator Collector Indore District

During investigation, encroachers on the said land were found to be Priyanka's husband Anup Jain (by building a wine shop), Surya Kumar Hasmat Rai (by building in front of the wine shop), Gopal's son of Sukhlal Mandre (by building a glass factory and shops), Shelendra Kumar's son of Basant Joshi. (by building shops and houses under construction), Suresh son of Hiralal Aglani (by building shops), Rajendra Gholap (by building shops), Sawan Lokesh son of Rajendra Gholap (by building shops) were found to be in illegal occupation.

A case was duly registered against the said encroachers in the Tehsil Court and due opportunity of hearing was provided. After this, taking action under Section 248 of Madhya Pradesh Land Revenue Code 1959, the encroachers namely Priyanka husband Anup Jain, Surya Kumar Hasmat Rai, Gopal son of Sukhlal Mandre, Shelendra Kumar  Basant Joshi, Suresh  Hiralal Aglani, Rajendra Gholap, Sawan Lokesh Rajendra respectively.

By evicting Gholap from the said land, action was taken to free encroachment of about 57 thousand 350 square feet of land. The market value of the land freed from encroachment is Rs 52 crore 11 lakh 60 thousand. The action to free the encroachment was taken by the district administration staff as well as a joint team of Municipal Corporation and Police Department.
