Governor Mangubhai Patel said that education of the girl child is the first step towards nation building. Daughters are the cornerstone of the family and society. He said that educated woman will ensure the same in future generations and instill cultural values in them. Patel was addressing the annual function organised at Kanya Shiksha Parisar, Sehore.
Mangubhai Patel said that the society and the country will flourish and become strong only when daughters are healthy, educated and self-reliant. An educated woman performs all the roles of sister, mother, wife and grandmother and in a better way. He said that today women are successful in every field be it business, education, politics, sports, art, defence.
Patel said that I am overwhelmed after having the glimpse of holistic development of girls of Kanya Shiksha Parisar.
For this, I congratulate Surya Foundation and the school management and extend my best wishes. He appreciated the self-defence techniques of karate and martial arts, cultural dance programmes based on patriotism and folk art along with yoga demonstration presentations presented by the girls.
The Governor said that women are occupying the highest positions from Panchayat to the highest posts. At present the Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh is also a woman officer. He told all the daughters to take inspiration from successful women and decide the direction of their future life. Patel said that education is a powerful instrument of change. Daughters can make important contributions to the development of their community and society through education. Women and daughters of our community and family should be taught the importance of education and empowerment by setting one’s own example. Patel appealed to the girls to participate in the programmes and efforts being made for the upliftment, self-reliance, education, health, cleanliness and self-reliance of backward and deprived areas.
Patel said that we are in historical era poised for a significant leap in country's progress. The country will be strong only when every citizen thinks in the interest of the nation. He said that this is the right time to nurture citizens who are conscious about the nation. Instead of limiting the youth to education and skills, inspire them to keep service and duties of the country paramount. He told the teachers to set an example to sow the seeds of thoughtfulness and adherence to duty in the present and future generations. He told them to be their role model.
The Governor was welcomed with bouquets and felicitated with a memento. Patel presented awards to Ayushi for Best Student, Jhalkari House for Best House, Shweta Tripathi for Best Teaching Staff and Shankar Lal for Best Admin Staff. He also honoured silver medalist Neetu Barela, bronze medalist Deepika Barela and Asha Verma in the state level Taekwondo competition. Patel posed for a group photo with the school management and girl students and signed the VIP visiting note of Kanya Shiksha Parisar. He also planted a mango tree in the premises. The girls presented a bow and arrow, (symbol of bravery), to Governor Patel.
