On the 120th birth anniversary of Manrag Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda, players of the State and those who made special contributions in other fields were honoured by the Umeed Foundation on Tuesday.

All these personalities were honoured at the Jaipal Singh Munda Award 2022 ceremony organized at Mayuri Auditorium of CMPDI, Kanke. The Chief Guest, Finance Minister of Jharkhand Government, Dr Rameshwar Oraon and General Secretary of Hockey India, Bholanath Singh honoured all of the players, artists, social workers and others.
On the occasion, the Finance Minister said that Jaipal Singh Munda of Manrag Gomke was a scholar other than a noted Hockey player and the role in the making of the constitution is also important. It was Marang Gomke who said to add the word tribal in the constitution of India, but the framers of the constitution did not use that word and inserted the word Schedule Tribe instead of Tribal. The Minister said that he was a good sportsman as well as an excellent pilot. His contribution cannot be forgotten for a long time.
 
Founder President of Umeed Foundation, Ritesh Oraon said that through these awards, the struggle, sacrifice and life story of Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda has to be taken to the masses and Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh is honored by the personalities of the soil of the State to make Munda's dreams and objectives come true.

 Umeed foundation Secretary Niranjan Bharti, Treasurer Rajesh Toppo, Antu Tirkey, Nandlal Nayak, Jharkhand Chamber President, Kishore Mantri and others were present on the occasion.

Salima Tete, Nikki Pradhan, Monalisha Pahadia, Mahesh Tirkey, Dinesh Kumar, Farid Khan, Lovely Choubey, Sujit Munda, Pradeep Mirdha, Neetu Linda, Astan Oraon, Priyanka Kerketta, Geeta Khalkho, Rupa Rani Tirkey, Anjali Munda, Shubhalakshmi Sharma, Deepak Turtle names are included. Whereas, Manohar Topno, Manoj Yadav, Bhola Nath Singh, Harendra Singh, Sanjay Kumar Jha, Vinod Kumar Singh, Mangal Minj, Asunta Lakda, Sarojini Lakda, Umashankar Jaiswal, Sonu Khalkho in Youth Icon from Jaipal Singh Munda Awards – 2022 Life Time Achievement , Santosh Mahato and Kamlesh Ram, Surendra Soren for revolutionary journalism, Jharkhand agitator Veer Kranti Yoddha Sarjit Mirdha and others were honored.
