Entire system in Guna destroyed in fire of corruption: Jitu Patwari

Friday, 29 December 2023 | Staff Reporter | BHOPAL

State Congress President Jitu Patwari said that 13 passengers died tragically by burning in an illegally operated bus in Guna last night and the lives of 15 injured passengers are in danger. It seems that the entire system in Guna was destroyed in the fire of corruption.

Patwari said that it has been reported that even after the expiry of its running period of 15 years, a bus number MP08P0199 was running fearlessly like death on the wheels of corruption. The bus had neither registration nor insurance. His insurance also expired after April 30, 2021, his fitness was also valid only till February 17, 2022, what more can be expected from the BJP government which has been unfit on every scale of honesty for 18 years. The validity of bus tax had also ended in July 2022. Now when the huge bribe goes into the sir's account, it is natural that illegal buses will be transported.

He said that this is not just an accident in Guna, it is a case of institutional murder of 13 people, that too in a heinous manner. Not only this, 15 people are still struggling for life.  This heart-wrenching incident cannot be condemned enough. We want to ask our Chief Minister some burning questions.

The headquarters of the Transport Department is in Gwalior, if illegal buses are running at some distance from the headquarters, then what will be the condition of the entire Madhya Pradesh?

By setting up an inquiry committee, aren't the responsible officers' sins being 'covered up'?

When will the criminal case be filed against the bus owner and responsible transport officials?

How many buses are running in the state without permit, without fitness, without registration and without insurance?

Shri Patwari said that Chief Minister, you should show full sensitivity by getting the seriously injured admitted to any good hospital of the country and getting them treated and a compensation of Rs 1 crore each should be given to the families of the deceased. You are requested to bring back on track the governance system which is deeply immersed in corruption and is dying in agony.
