The effect of melting snow in North India is also visible in Madhya Pradesh. Chilly cold winds of 10KM per hour have intensified the cold weather conditions in the state. The minimum temperature has gone below 10 degrees in more than 15 cities of the state.
Datia's night was the coldest as temperature recorded at 6 degree celsius. In Pachmarhi it was 7.2 degree celsius. The highest minimum temperature was 13.5 degrees in Tikamgarh.
The day temperature has also dropped. On Monday, the day temperature remained below 25 degrees in 23 cities. Pachmarhi was the coldest in the state with a temperature of 19 degrees. Indore witnessed a drop of 4.2 degrees in a single day. A temperature of 23 degrees was recorded here.
Meteorologist said that there has been snowfall in the mountains due to western disturbance. Now the snow is melting. Due to the wind coming from there, the weather has become cooler. Meteorologist Ashfaq Hussain said that the weather effect will remain the same for the next two to three days. The night temperature may drop further.
Due to western disturbance on December 22-23, light rain is expected in many parts of the state. Till then the effect of cold will remain.
The night temperature in the major cities were (in degree celsius) Bhopal 10.5, Indore 12.2, Gwalior 7.2 and Jabalpur 7.2.
The region which recorded night temperature below 10 degree celsius were Umaria 6.5, Rewa 6.6, Mandala 7, Barwani 7.2, Nowgong 7.5, Sagar 8.0, Raisen 8.2, Rajgarh 8.3, Satna 8.4, Damoh 8.5, Betul 8.8, Khajuraho Chhindwara 9.4,Khandwa 9.4 and Seoni 9.4.
