The Edara e Sharia Ranchi has expressed deep concern over the growing trend of apostasy in the society. It has asked Muslims to be vigilant against apostasy.
Apostasy is abandonment or renunciation of belief and faith and no religion is any exception where people are not changing or crossing over to other belief and faith. There is conversion of all faith and at all level.
Besides apostasy the Edara e Sharia has called for strict measures to be put in place to stop blasphemy against Prophet Sahib. It asks for a total ban on defaming or disreputing any religion or any faith.
It has demanded Muslim Safety Act on the pattern of the SC ST prevention of the atrocities act a demand which Edara e Sharia too understands is highly impossible and impracticable in the present scenario where the BJP is all out against appeasement to the minority.
The Edara e Sharia released its 2 page resolutions after it held a mammoth campaign for awareness among Muslims in the Eidgah ground in Rahat Nagar in Daltonganj very recently.
There were men and men all around. Women were strictly prohibited from taking part in this programme.
A Muslim woman Jameela Bibi under the Chainpur police station limits said "We do not understand when we Muslim women will be given a chance to share seats with the Moulanas in such public function as then only a true picture of the community facing challenges and traumas can emerge."
This Muslim woman demanded that no heaven or hell would have fallen had there been a separate enclosure for the Muslim women in this programme of Edara e Sharia here.
More than 10,000 Muslims took part in it said a well known civil society activist Mumtaz Ahmad Khan.
Khan said had this campaign for awareness been open for other sects in the Muslims the crowd could have touched a new height nevertheless it was spectacular.
There are 2 prominent sects of Muslims. It is Barelwi and Deobandi.
Khan said this programme of Edara e Sharia was prominently of people of the Barelwi sect.
The Pioneer has a copy of the resolutions of the Edara e Sharia.
The Edara e Sharia termed this campaign first of its kind here in Daltonganj as Tehreek e Bedari.
Education, loan facility, coaching facility, financial aid to 592 Madrasas, more and more avenues for jobs for Muslims, promotion for micro finance support system, strengthening of Waqf Board, registration for mosques etc were listed as demands.
The demands are to be sent to the chief minister Hemant Soren.
Political watchers are very analytical of this huge gathering of the Muslims on issues definitely non political but nevertheless it sends out a message that the minority community has genuine concerns and issues which need to be addressed to. End
