According to the information, the pipeline going from DVC plant to Ash Pond burst at two places near Murgi farm and Jarwabasti on Friday night. Due to nightfall, by Saturday morning the ash water had started flowing here due to the slope.

After receiving the information, CE & PH Anand Mohan Prasad, GM O&M S Bhattacharya, DGM Mechanical T Rahman inspected the Konar river on Saturday morning and directed the concerned officials to stop the flow of ashwater by repairing the pipe and after that the outgoing crossing was closed and the line was changed.

While talking to the Pioneer Chief Engineer & PH Anand Mohan Prasad said that here on Saturday one Ash slurry line#2 leakage was reported at 06:15 hrs near Noori Nagar. Immediately the corresponding pump was stopped and the line was changed over to other pump series.

Leakage was stopped very shortly and after that leaky pipe was attended at around 17:30 hrs on the same day, added CE & PH.

CE & PH Anand Mohan Prasad said that the place where the pipe burst was slightly sloped and a little amount of ashwater flowed into the river, it was stopped within a few hours. He clearly said that DVC management is very conscious and serious to ensure that there is no flow of any kind of polluted water in Bokaro Thermal and all the rivers flowing in its surroundings, added CE&PH.

Bermo's Civil SDO Sailesh Kumar said that today I myself had done the spot verification at Bokaro Thermal at that place. For some time, the ash slurry pipe burst but it was repaired within a short time. There is no need to panic like this, DVC is quite aware of this.
