Police on Saturday arrested a hardcore PLFI extremist and, based on his tip-off, recovered a few rifles and ammunition.
According to Dipak Kumar Pandey , the Superintendent of Police of Garhwa, a raid was conducted at a stone cave located in the Dumariyanala forest between village Vengura and Vaidisi.
A cache of weapons of the said squad has been recovered from forest in the Naxal-infested Ranka police station area of the district, following information from the arrested rebel.
Manoj Ram alias Manoj Kumar, said to be a active member of the outlawed PLFI , was caught from Durjan village under Ramkanda Police station after after five days of an encounter.
SP said, on his tip police was raided at a hide out from where the recoveries include one Insas rifle, four 315 rifles, besides a huge quantity of ammunition.
Encounter had carried out at Dhengura forest on December 23,2023 in which Ranka Thana in charge was injured. During the search operation after the incident, the active member of the said squad, Shivpujan Bhuihar alias Shivpujan Munda, along with Modern weapon AK 47 and 02 magazine, 70 rounds of bullets and other items were recovered near Ramkanda. A raid team has been formed to arrest other activists of JJMP Naxalite organization involved in the encounter.
