‘Siddharth se Buddha- an awakening’- the theatrical showcased the saga of Siddharth’s journey from his birth eclipsed by a prophecy --- marking the completion of twenty years of Delhi Public School, Sector 40, Chandigarh.

DPS witnessed the curtain raiser of ‘Siddharth se Buddha- an awakening’ on Monday.  The lyrical odyssey was conceptualised, planned and directed by the Principal, Reema Dewan and is a one-of-a-kind school production with a repertoire of plays, songs and scintillating dances on opulent sets. More than four hundred students presented the show on Monday.

This showcased the saga of Siddharth’s journey from his birth eclipsed by a prophecy, childhood and education to his awakening, spanning different stages of his life from a sheltered, happy prince to the Enlightened One. 

The show was staged in the presence of Pawan Kumar Bansal and Ambika Soni – former Members of Parliament and Senior Members of the DPS Chandigarh, Anup Soni and Amit Bansal - Directors of the school and other dignitaries.

The Principal emphasized that besides excellence in academics, the school has taken great strides in other fields too, adding that the school’s focus is on the wholesome and holistic development of the students.  She added that being a part of the mega-production has been a great learning experience for students who have not only rediscovered the wisdom of Buddha but also cemented their foundation for personal growth. The inaugural show will continue on 12th, 13th and 14th December.
