DPS Ranchi top co-ed day school of State: Survey

Wednesday, 27 September 2023 | PNS | Ranchi

DPS, Ranchi has been declared as the top co-ed school of Jharkhand yet again this year as per the 17th annual EducationWorld India School Rankings (EWISR) 2023-24 results of the survey conducted by EducationWorld in association with C- Fore. The results of the all India survey were declared on September 26.

Schools from across the State, which have made it to the top five spot include DPS, Bokaro Steel City; Hill Top School, Jamshedpur; Chinmay Vidyalay, Bokaro Steel City and Loyola School, Jamshedpur.

To conduct the 2023-24 EWISR survey, the Delhi-based market research, and opinion polls company Centre for Forecasting and Research Pvt. Ltd constituted a sample respondents database of 18,928  individuals including school principals, teachers, educationists, fees-paying parents in SEC (socio-economic category) ‘A’, and senior school students in 34 major cities and education hubs across India. The sample respondents were persuaded to rate India’s most well-known 4,000 primary-secondary schools on 14 parameters of education excellence.

The 14 parameters on which schools have been ranked included academic reputation, competence of faculty, individual attention to students, leadership or management quality and co- curricular education amongst others.

“The EWISR 2023-24 is the outcome of an elaborate field survey. Over a period of four months, 127 field researchers conducted interviews in 34 cities across the country. They persuaded 18,928 SEC-A fees paying parents, teachers, principals, educationists and senior school students to rate the schools they were aware of on a 100-point scale under 14 parameters of education excellence. Schools assessed by less than 25 sample respondents were eliminated from the ranking process. The score awarded by every respondent under each parameter was totaled to rank schools in each sub-category,” said Premchand Palety, promoter-CEO of the Delhi-based Centre for Forecasting & Research Pvt. Ltd (C fore, estb.2000), which has been conducting the annual EWISR for EducationWorld for the past 16 years.

“The uniqueness of EWISR, introduced in 2007, is that institutional rankings are based on careful evaluation of 14 discrete parameters of school education excellence. Moreover, schools are grouped within their own categories to eliminate apples and oranges type comparisons. Another special feature of the annual EWISR is that it is a national survey based on field interviews with over 18,000 knowledgeable respondents, not on the opinions of a handful selected jurors. I am pleased to say that since it was introduced in 2007, EWISR has evolved into the largest, deepest and most comprehensive primary-secondary schools rating and rankings survey worldwide,” said DilipThakore, Founder-editor of EducationWorld.
