The temperature variation in Dehradun and other parts in the plains has remained considerable with the maximum temperature more than normal and the minimum temperature below normal in the provisional State capital. Clear skies and sunlight are providing relief from the cold during the daytime while the temperature tends to plummet after sunset and during the early morning. The situation is expected to remain the same on Saturday. The State meteorological centre has forecast that dry weather is likely to prevail in the districts of the State on Saturday. Dehradun is forecast to witness a mainly clear sky with mist likely to occur during the morning hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 23 degrees Celsius and six degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Friday were 23.4 degrees Celsius and 6.4 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 23.6 degrees Celsius and 4.6 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 16 degrees Celsius and 4.7 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 17.1 degrees Celsius and five degrees Celsius in New Tehri. The maximum temperature was two degrees above normal and the minimum temperature was one degree below normal in Dehradun. In Pantnagar, the maximum temperature was a degree above normal and the minimum temperature was two degrees below normal. Similarly, the maximum and minimum temperatures were two degrees and one degree above normal respectively in Mukteshwar.
