Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the Uttarakhand government has set a target to double the GSDP of the State in next five years. He was addressing a roadshow organised by the State government to promote the global investors summit to be held in Dehradun next month.
In the roadshow Dhami held discussions about the possibilities of doing investment with the representatives of the industrial groups. He also invited them to attend the summit scheduled on December 8 and 9.
Terming Mumbai the financial capital of the nation the CM said that it is part of the extraordinary saga of development of India. He said that Uttarakhand is the spiritual capital of the country and there is a need for cooperation between it and Mumbai which is the financial capital of the country. The CM said that apart from modern technology and management skills, spiritual power and peace is also needed for the development of the country. He said that the State government has initiated the Sashakt Uttarakhand mission to achieve the target of doubling the GSDP in five years and the Global Investors summit 2023 is part of the Sashakt Uttarakhand mission.
The CM said that the State government has already received investment proposals worth Rs one lakh crore ahead of the summit which underlies the enthusiasm the industrialists have to invest in Uttarakhand. He averred that by adopting the mantra of simplification, solution, disposal and satisfaction the State government has progressed in the field of ease of doing business.
Addressing the investors the CM assured that they will face no problem in setting up industrial units in the State. He said that the State government has improved the system of single window for licences and other approvals for industry. Dhami averred that the State government has formulated new policies and simplified many policies to adopt investment friendly plans and strengthen the infrastructure of the State.
The chief secretary SS Sandhu, secretaries R Meenakshi Sundaram, Vinay Shankar Pandey, director general of industry Rohit Meena, Information DG Banshidhar Tiwari and others were present on the occasion.
