In a major crackdown, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday placed 12 personnel, including the SDM, CO and two tehsildars in Deoria, under suspension. Action was also taken against over a dozen revenue officials of Kaushambi and other districts.
The CM ordered action against officials found guilty of negligence in duty in the Deoria case in which six people were killed over a land dispute on October 2.
Apart from SDM Yogesh Kumar Gaur and CO of Rudrapur district Jilajeet, head constable Rajesh Pratap Singh, constable Avanish Chauhan, beat incharge/sub-inspector Jai Prakash Dubey and inspector incharge Naveen Kumar Singh have been placed under suspension.
According to an official release, constables Kailash Patel, Ram Pratap Kannaujia & Subhash Yadav, sub-inspector Sunil Kumar, former inspector incharge, Rudrapur, were placed under suspension after being found responsible for negligence in disposal of IGRS cases in the past.
Apart from this, department action will be taken against former deputy collector Ram Vilas, Om Prakash, Dhruv Shukla and Sanjeev Kumar Upadhyay. Departmental action has also been initiated against retired tehsildar Vanshraj Ram and retired revenue inspector Ramanand Pal.
Besides, an additional charge-sheet has been issued to Abhay Raj (currently suspended tehsildar). On the other hand, instructions have been given to take departmental action by suspending then tehsildar Ramashray and the current tehsildar of the district.
Keshav Kumar, tehsildar of Rudrapur, has also been suspended. Departmental action has also been taken against then CO, Rudrapur, Dinesh Kumar Singh Yadav.
The chief minister ordered action after senior officials reviewed the circumstances that led to the ghastly incident in Deoria.
Meanwhile, the chief minister also took action against a dozen negligent officials handling consolidation-related cases in Kaushambi.
As per the CM’s instructions, the consolidation commissioner suspended six officials on Thursday, including the consolidation officer, for negligence in the triple murder case in Kaushambi over lease land dispute, while strict action has been taken against a total of 12 people. The action ranges from suspension to FIR and even dismissal from the job.
Notably, action has been taken by the consolidation commissioner against over a dozen people in the last one month.
The chief minister, in the revenue review meeting held in the Annexe on September 16, had issued instructions for stern action against negligent and corrupt officials. Following this, a list of such officers was prepared at the departmental level.
Furthermore, as per sources, more stringent action may be taken against additional officers in the near future.
Consolidation commissioner GS Naveen Kumar said that under the zero-tolerance policy of CM Yogi Adityanath, action was being taken against corrupt officers and employees.
He said that in the triple murder case in Kaushambi, Mithilesh Kumar (consolidation officer), Afzal Ahmed Khan (assistant consolidation officer), three consolidation lekhpals Shivesh Singh, Shilwant Singh, Ravi Kiran Singh, and Ram Asrey (consolidation officer) had been suspended for negligence in the lease land dispute.
Naveen Kumar said that the service of Devraj Singh (consolidation officer) had been terminated, while Satish Kumar (assistant consolidation officer of Etah) had been demoted and appointed on basic salary for irregularities and indiscipline.
Similarly, departmental action has been initiated by suspending Shamli’s and Hardoi’s assistant consolidation officers Anangpal Singh and Gajraj, respectively, for violation of rules and negligence in preparing the consolidation plan.
Moreover, on the recommendation of the investigation directorate team formed on the complaint of irregularities in consolidation, instructions have been given to suspend the consolidator and consolidation accountant of Mau.
Additionally, departmental action has been initiated against Basti and Hardoi consolidation officers Sharadchandra Yadav and Prem Prakash Bharti, respectively. Along with this, a letter has been written to the government for action against the retired bandobast adhikari consolidation of Gorakhpur.
The consolidation commissioner said that they received a complaint regarding negligence in the consolidation process in the Shivra village of Pratapgarh sometime ago. A committee was formed at the directorate level to investigate this. Based on the committee’s report, disciplinary proceedings had been initiated against Omkar Sharan Singh (consolidation officer).
