- In a bid to curb criminal activities, the Brahmapur police on Sunday night carried out blocking and checking of vehicles at important locations in the city under the ‘Safe City’ initiative.
As the anti-socials are ruling the roost in the city particularly during the night hours, the drive has been intensified.
Blocking and checking of vehicles are being carried out on all entry points and various area like Jagannathpur, Goplapur, Khodasingi, Lochapada, Haladiapadar, First Gate, Nimakhandi, Brahmapur Sadar and Andhapasara Road.
Officers and adequate police forces were deployed during the drive. A senior police officer said that they are making such efforts to prevent criminal activities and movement of drugs.
Personnel of all the police stations like Baidyanathpur, Golonthara, Bada Bazzar, Gosaninuagaon, Brahmapur Town, Brahmapur Sadar, Nimakhandi and Gopalpur are on alert for the drive.
