Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE), held its convocation ceremony on Saturday to confer Engineering Degrees to 41 officers from the passing out courses of Signals Officers Degree Engineering (SODE-112) and Technical Entry Scheme (TES-40) including three officer from friendly foreign countries.
The officers were admitted to the Fraternity of Engineers by Lieutenant General KH Gawas, Vishist Seva Medal, Commandant MCTE & Colonel Commandant Corps of Signals. All graduating officers took the pledge under Major General Sanjay Sajjanhar, Deputy Commandant and Chief Instructor, MCTE for commitment of their acquired knowledge to enhance professional effectiveness in discharge of their duties.
Prof V Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras was the chief guest for the ceremony. In his address to the passing out officers, Prof V Kamakoti complimented the graduating officers for their sustained hardwork, application and performance.
He stressed upon the importance of critical role of communications in today's network centric warfare and exhorted them to be a step ahead of anticipated challenges.
In the passing out courses, Signal Officer in Chief (SO-in-C) trophy and Gold medal for the Best Student was won by Captain Rahul Yadav in SODE-112 course and by Lieutenant MS Shekhawat in TES-40 course.
During his visit, Prof V Kamakoti visited the state-of-art laboratories of the college and appreciated the commitment of instructional staff for their relentless pursuit in conducting the courses in a professional manner. MCTE as a training establishment, is committed towards imparting high quality education in the field of Information and Communication Technology.
