Congress completely wiped out from Sehore district

In the assembly elections of Madhya Pradesh, the magic of Ladli Brahmin Yojana worked across the state as well as in Sehore district. This was the reason that the entire election was one-sided. Bharatiya Janata Party wiped out Congress. BJP once again captured all four assemblies of Sehore district.

In the 2018 assembly elections also, BJP had won all the four seats, but this time there was a very close contest on three seats in Sehore district, but the election results have surprised everyone. Congress was completely wiped out from Sehore district.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has won from Budhni Assembly, one of the most high profile seats of the state, by a record 104974 votes. He has defeated Congress candidate Vikram Mastal Sharma. Congress candidate Vikram Mastal Sharma's magic of 'Hanumanji' did not work on 'Shiva'.

Among the four assembly seats of Sehore district, counting of votes took place in the maximum number of rounds in Budhni assembly. The counting of votes of Budhni Assembly was completed in 22 rounds, while the counting of votes of Ashta Assembly was completed in 20 rounds, the counting of votes of Sehore Assembly was completed in 19 rounds and the counting of votes of Ichhawar Assembly was completed in 20 rounds.

There was a hectic atmosphere at the Government Women's Polytechnic College, the counting venue in Sehore, since morning. Apart from the candidates, their supporters were also present there. They also kept taking updates from moment to moment. The security arrangements at the counting venue were fully tightened.

Collector and District Election Officer Praveen Singh also handed over certificates of victory to the winning candidates. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, who was the BJP candidate from Budhni Assembly, reached Sehore to receive the certificate of victory from his wife Sadhna Singh and son Kartikeya Singh Chauhan.

Engineer Gopal Singh, candidate of Ashta assembly constituency, himself received the certificate. Similarly, candidates of Sehore and Ichhawar assembly also received certificates of victory.

As soon as BJP's lead was seen after the election results, happiness was visible on the faces of BJP leaders and workers. His supporters started gathering outside the counting venue. During this time he also had BJP flags in his hands.

As the victory of the BJP candidates became certain, their supporters outside became happy and started shouting slogans and cheering for the BJP. BJP's victory was celebrated in many rural areas including Sehore, Budhni, Bhairunda, Ichhawar, Ashta. BJP supporters and leaders distributed sweets in Bhairunda. Senior BJP leader Advocate Lakshiram Yadav and other leaders and workers played drums and celebrated.
