Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed all the district magistrates to make necessary arrangements for the public in view of the cold intensifying across the State. The CM said this after conducting a surprise inspection of the ISBT and various other areas of the provisional State capital late on Tuesday evening. He also distributed warm blankets to the needy during his inspection.
It is pertinent to mention here that the temperatures in both the mountainous and plain regions of the State have been dropping consistently. The snowfall in the higher reaches and light rain in some mountainous regions on Tuesday has further intensified the cold. After inspecting various areas of Dehradun city, the CM directed all the district magistrates that adequate arrangements for wood stoves/bonfires should be made for the public in both rural and urban areas of the State considering the intensifying effects of the cold. He further directed that the arrangements in Rain Baseras operated in various municipal corporation and municipality areas should be improved. While inspecting the ISBT, the CM interacted with the travelers and others present at the terminus and also sought their feedback on the sanitation and other facilities. He also distributed warm blankets to the needy in the areas around the ISBT during his inspection.
