Wednesday, 05 April 2023 | Pankaj | Dhanbad

The  Coal India Limited ( CIL)  has notified the ninth meeting   of  JBCCI -XI scheduled   on April 18 at its headquarters for further discussions on wages of coal  miners.

The most interesting part is that the Congress labour wing the INTUC gets entry  in the JBCCI after a gap of seven years.

The INTUC was part of ninth JBCCI  but due to  factionalism and court case  failed  to get a place on tenth JBCCI  and later in eleventh while it was originally constituted.

After the  Kolkata high court recent decision INTUC finally got its position with four permanent and  four alternate members on board after two years since the current JBCCI  was notified  in 2021 with four trade unions including BMS, CITU, AITUC and HMS.

According to the CIL notification Kumar Jaimangal Singh, QA Zama, S Pradhan and BJ Prasad   happen  to be four permanent members   from. INTUC and Ak Jha, C Banerjee, BN Bist and GN Singh  as alternate members.

The  CIL has  called a meeting  for finalising the National Coal Wage Agreement  on the aforementioned date that still is pending.

CIL chairman is to preside over the proposed  meeting.
