Meanwhile, unprecedented security arrangements have been made to ensure that there is no disturbance on Christmas and New Year celebrations in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. According to SSP Chandan Sinha, 50 Mahila Shakti Commandos will guard the capital Ranchi during this period, especially to control the miscreants. All the prominent churches in the capital and other districts of the state have been decked and illuminated on Christmas eve as followers get ready to welcome the birth of Lord Jesus at the stroke of twelve in the clock at midnight. In the state capital of Ranchi all the prominent churches including GEL Christ Church, Saint Maria Church, Saint Paul’s Cathedral, Assembly of God Church have been beautifully decorated.
Apart from the church buildings decoration and beautiful lighting have been done on trees and the other structures inside the premises.

Shops selling Christmas goodies including Santa caps and dresses did a brisk business during the day while the bakeries remained buzzing throughout the day with people eager to buy cakes and pastries for their loved ones.
