A record number of more than a thousand artists performed at the three-day Chakradhar Mahotsava organized in Chhattisgarh’s Raigarh district from September 19 to 21.
Along with local talents and children, artists who have gained fame at the national and international levels also took part.
A group of 60 artists from the Indira Kala Sangeet University, Khairagarh, enthralled the audience with their musical instruments and beautiful dances to the tune of Chhattisgarh's state song, Arpa Pairi Ke Dhar.
The centre of attraction was 'Lok Mein Ram', performed by the students and artists of the Folk Music Department. The Chakradhar Mahotsava is celebrated in the memory of the former Raigarh royal family member, Maharaja Chakradhar Singh, who was a great patron of music and dance.
The festival started in 1985 and has been celebrated every year since then.
