Acting on a tip-off, West Singhbhum police arrested three hardcore extremists on Tuesday. West Singhbhum, Superintendent of Police (SP), Ashutosh Shekhar received a secret intelligence that the area commander of PLFI, Tambu, along with his squad members, was roaming in Aamkita under Bandgaon police station area. A raiding team was constituted by Shekhar for verification of the information and necessary action.
The SP informed that during the raid, two suspicious motorcycles were seen coming in village Kita, on being signalled to stop, seeing the police, both the motorcycle riders started running away, which was chased and caught by the armed forces, but a motorcycle rider managed to escape. “The police team was successful and the persons on the other motorcycle were apprehended,” he added.
Shekhar further said that the apprehended persons accepted their involvement in the firing incident at village Karika on January 17 and in the police encounter at Huwangdih on January 21. “Along with this, they has accepted the involvement in other Naxalite incidents as well. One (01) AK 47 rifle and 33 rounds of live bullets have been recovered at his instance. In this context a case was registered at Bandgaon police station of the district,” he added.
Police arrested Loki Sandipurti, age about 21 years, son of Gosnar Sandipurti, resident of Kodankel under Bandgaon police station in West Singhbhum district, Birsa Daga age about 22 years, son of Pantush Daga son of Kununum Maidan Tola under Bandgaon police station in West Singhbhum district and Sukhram Sandipurti, age about 21 years son of Lavu Sandipurti resident of -Kita, Munda Toli under Chandnav police station in West Singhbhum district.
