Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi, organised a Case Study Competition titled “Compliance in Action: ICC Challenge - Navigating Workplace Respect" on Friday.
A total of 5 teams named as JAZZ STAR, Justitia Omnibus, Culture Catalyst, The Brainy Brigade, and Pioneers each consisting of 6-8 members participated in the competition. The teams presented and enacted workplace harassment cases which challenged them to analyze, comprehend, and propose solutions within the framework of the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH) Act.
Director, XISS, Dr Joseph Marianus Kujur, shared his insights about the PoSH Act and the importance of the knowledge of ICC to the students. Dr Madhumita Singha, Presiding Officer, ICC stated the objective of ICC will be fulfilled if it reminds all about the importance of our conduct in every sphere of life and help the students in the Institute and later in their workplace.
Dr Ramakant Agrawal, Dr Arup Mukherjee, Dr Arana Kausar, Dr Bhabani Prasad Mahapatra, and Dr Rajshree Verma were the judges of this competition and shared their observations on the case presentation and role play by the participants. The First Prize of Rs 7000/- was won by team Brainy Brigade, followed by Second Prize of Rs 3000 to the Team Pioneers, while Team Jazz Star was awarded the Third Prize of Rs 3000.
Dr Pooja, Koyel, Harsh Vardhan, Amisha Chaudhary, Malvika, and Fr Suresh Samad, members of ICC were also present during the event.
