The governor lieutenant general (retd) Gurmit Singh and chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attended the launching ceremony of the ‘Viksit Bharat @ 2047: Voice of Youth’ in virtual mode on Monday. In the programme the Prime Minister Narendra Modi also launched a portal for registering ideas on the Viksit Bharat @ 2027 campaign.
Addressing the chancellors, vice chancellors of different universities, teachers and students assembled in Raj Bhawan after the programme, the governor said that the manner in which PM Modi is putting effort for achieving the target; the desired result will be obtained before the year 2047. He said preparing capable youngsters is the biggest guarantee for making a powerful nation. The governor exhorted the teachers to provide a free environment to the students which instil confidence in them so that they can develop the courage for doing something new. He said that the interest of the world about the traditions and identity of the nation is increasing due to which the new generation needs to be taught about Yoga, Ayurveda, arts and culture.
The governor said that the idea of making our country developed has germinated under the leadership of PM Modi. He said that as everyone knows that the person who plants a sapling does not eat the fruit of the tree but it is the coming generations which enjoy its fruit and it is exactly what is being done by the PM. He exhorted the youngsters to take a pledge that they will give their best possible contribution in fulfilling the commitment of a developed India.
Panel discussions on four different subjects were organised on the occasion in which the VCs presented their view. In the first session discussion on prosperous and sound economy was held in which the VC of UPES Ram Sharma, the VC of ICFAI University R K Singh and others took part. In the second session discussion on the subject ‘Innovations- Science and technology’ was held. The VC of UTU, Onkar Singh, the dean of IIT Roorkee Akshay Dwivedi, VC of Graphic Era hill university Sanjay Jasola and dean of NIT Srinagar Hariharan Muthuswami took part.
The VC of Doon university Surekha Dangwal, VC of Ayurved university AK Tripathu, Pro VC of HNB Garhwal university R C Bhat and VC of Uttaranchal university Dharmbuddhi participated in panel discussion on ‘ India in world’ subject in third session,.
The fourth session was on the subject ‘role of youth in Viksit Bharat @ 20247’. In the session the Chancellor of UPES Sunil Rai, the chancellor of Swami Rama Himalayan university Vijay Dhasmana and VC of DIT university G Raghuram took part.
The Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat, other officers, faculty members and students attended the programme.
