Decks have been cleared for appointment of 2000 posts of Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Panchayat Secretary and stenographer in state. The State Cabinet today gave its nod for appointment of vacant posts for LDC, Panchayat Secretary and Clerk.

Cabinet Secretary Vandana Dadel said that bottlenecks have been cleared for the appointment of 2000 posts of LDC, Panchayat Secretary and stenographer in state. Recently the Supreme Court directed the state government to carry out the recruitment of LDC, Panchayat Secretary and Clerk in State.

In today’s Cabinet meeting, 20 proposals were approved. The Cabinet meet started after tributes were paid to former education minister Jagannath Mahato, whose Cabinet colleagues kept two minutes silence in honour of the late minister.

The State cabinet today paved path for government jobs to Soni Kumari and around 2000 others like her whose appointment had got trapped in legal intricacies after the Jharkhand High Court in September 2019 stayed the appointment of teachers terming the way of appointment adopted in 2016 unconstitutional and later the Supreme Court in August also upholded the same decision.

This became possible after the Cabinet approved relaxation in the 2016-recruitment rules in the wake of a Supreme Court order on December 15, 2022 directing Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh, to prepare a merit list including those who have been already selected on the basis of old rule and those who have become the original petitioners in this matter after the public notice of the high court in the matter.

The Cabinet also approved the proposal giving the status of agriculture to lac cultivation. Four lakh rural families will be benefited. The Cabinet also gave its approval permission to work for an additional year as advanced graduate apprentice and advanced technician apprentice to those who have completed one year training period after their engineering and diploma respectively, implementation of the centrally sponsored Pradhan Mantri Matysa Sampada Yojna after obtaining budget provision for top up from the state plan and the guarantee of the state government on taking a loan of Rs 776.00 crore from the Bank of India for the purchase of paddy from farmers at the minimum support price.

Administrative approval was given to the draft for the development of Interstate Bus Stand, Ranchi under Public Private Partnership system. Additional Director General, Directorate of NCC, Bihar and Jharkhand were approved to declare State NCC Cell for execution of all activities related to Jharkhand State NCC.

Based on the record account of the legal researcher/research associate for the cooperation of the judges, approval was given to increase the existing monthly honorarium of Rs 30 thousand to Rs 40 thousand.
