Now that the goalball sport has been launched in Odisha, the blind players are going to get an opportunity to participate in the game which has been popular in the Asian Games and Para-Olympic games.
Bullseye, an organisation which has been incessantly working for the betterment of disabled people, especially blinds, is going to adopt Goalball to do everything for its promotion and popularity. Delhi based organisation Goalball Federation of India has affiliated Bullseye for the promotion of the sport in Odisha.
The welcome ceremony of goalball sport was organised by Bullseye in cooperation with the Rotary Club of Rajadhani, Bhubaneswar and social worker Pramod Kumar Rout on Friday here.
Eminent social worker Sushanta Kumar Sahoo, Bullseye chief advisor and counsellor Chandra Sekhar Pal, secretary Bapina Nayak, trustee Amarnath Singh Samanta, Assistant Governor of Rotary Club of Rajdhani, Bhubaneswar Chinmay Mohapatra and Rotarian Rudra Prasad Mohapatra were present in the welcome ceremony. Bullseye felicitated two eminent social workers Santoshi Jain, founder member of Chinmayee Foundation Trust and famous sand artist Subal Maharana.
Goalball Federation secretary general Swaraj Kumar Singh said that in future Odisha is going to produce an ample number of goalball players since the land is full of sports talents. Chairman, Bullseye, Trilochan Beura said that Bullseye would leave no stone unturned to produce world class goalball players from Odisha.
