British Deputy High Commissioner, Kolkata Dr. Andrew Fleming met Chief Minister Hemant Soren today in the Jharkhand Assembly Hall.
Dr. Andrew Fleming met the Chief Minister and on behalf of the UK Government cordially invited the Chief Minister Hemant Soren to visit the UK. It is known that on behalf of the Department of Education and Department of Business and Trade of the UK Government, appreciating the work done by the Jharkhand Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Hemant Soren in the field of education, he has been invited to visit the United Kingdom.
The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to the British Deputy High Commissioner for the invitation given by the UK Government. The Chief Minister said that Jharkhand is ready to move forward with mutual cooperation. The British Deputy High Commissioner appreciated the Chevening-Marang Gomke Overseas Scholarship Scheme by the Government of Jharkhand. During the meeting, there was a detailed discussion on the development and possibilities of mutual cooperation in areas like education, especially girls education, as well as sports, tourism, climate change, sustainable mining etc.
On this occasion, Chief Secretary of the State L. Khyangte, Secretary to the Chief Minister Vinay Kumar Choubey, Arunabh Bhattacharya of the British Deputy High Commission Office and Amit Sengupta and others were present.
