CM to hold Jan Samvad in Yamunanagar on November 8-9

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, as part of the series of his ongoing Jan Samvad programs, will be on a two-day tour to hear the grievances of the people of villages in the Yamunanagar district. During the Samvad the Chief Minister will also take real-time feedback from the general public regarding the implementation of government schemes at the grassroots level.  As per the schedule, on November 8, at 12 PM, Khattar will initiate the Jan Samvad from Partapnagar village, then the Jan Samvad will be held at 3 PM, in Chhachhrauli village and at 5 PM in Jagadhari city. Similarly, on November 9, he will commence the Jan Samvad at 9:30 AM in Pabni Kalan village. Following this, at 11:30 AM in Bilaspur village and at 2:30 PM in Sadhaura town.

Hry to host regional review meeting on Ayush, Health, and Wellness Centers in Panchkula on Nov 9

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal on Monday said that the state will host a two-day regional review meeting involving eight states and union territories. The meeting, scheduled to commence in Panchkula from November 9 onward, will focus on various ongoing programs and activities, including Ayush, health, and Wellness Centers. This meeting will coincide with the celebration of National Ayurveda Day.  Kaushal emphasized that the Union Ministry of Ayush will conduct a comprehensive review of the various initiatives under the National Ayush Mission. The meeting aims to address various ongoing programs and activities, with a particular focus on Ayush Health and Wellness Centers (AHWCs) under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of the National Ayush Mission (NAM).
 
Hry aims to achieve 100 pc ODF plus coverage by Dec 31

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal on Monday said that the State has made significant strides, achieving a remarkable 79.63 per cent progress in the ODF Plus initiative as of November 2. This marks a substantial leap towards ensuring cleaner and more hygienic living conditions for its residents. Kaushal was reviewing the Swachh Bharat schemes here. He said that 5411 villages (3777 aspiring, 391 rising, and 1243 model category) have achieved the status of ODF Plus as of November 2.

Haryana Traders Welfare Board reconstituted

Chandigarh: The Haryana government has reconstituted the Haryana Traders Welfare Board. The primary objectives of this reconstitution include addressing the issues and concerns of traders, acting as a bridge between traders and the state government, ensuring social security and insurance coverage for traders, promoting investment and employment opportunities in the state, analyzing the terms and conditions of various departments related to traders and to give suggestions to the government for their equalization as well as to constitute a Traders Welfare Fund.

Himachal excise department seizes gold jewellery worth over Rs 2 crore

Shimla:  During a drive against tax evasion, excise department teams of Shimla and Solan districts have seized gold jewellery worth Rs 2.17 crore after setting up checkpoints at different places, officials said on Monday.  Fines worth Rs 13 lakh were collected from the violators who were carrying the jewellery without valid documents and the seizure was made following a tip-off, State Taxes and Excise Commissioner Yunus said. The Shimla excise team seized Rs 1.33 crore while the Solan team seized jewellery worth Rs 84 lakh. Both teams collected a total fine of Rs 13 lakh under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Act, 2017, the commissioner said in a statement issued here on Monday.  The Excise Department, while taking action under the Excise Act against illegal liquor vendors in various districts of the state, destroyed 200 litres of liquor and seized 23 boxes of English and country liquor, he said.  Yunus added that all the districts have been instructed to take strict action against illegal liquor and tax evasion. The commissioner also urged people to call on the toll-free number 1800-180-8060 or WhatsApp number 9418331426 if they want to share information or register complaints on cases of illegal liquor sale and tax evasion in the state.
