DIPALI DAS TAKES OATH AS MLA
Bhubaneswar: Newly-elected Jharsuguda BJD MLA Dipali Das took oath as a legislator at the State Legislative Assembly on Monday. Deputy Speaker Rajnikant Singh administered her the oath of office and secrecy at his office chamber in the presence of Ministers Pramila Mallik and Rita Sahu. Earlier, she had reached the Assembly with her mother and brother.
WATER KIOSK INAUGURATED IN VSS NAGAR (Pix)
Bhubaneswar: A water kiosk of the Veer Surendra Sai Yuvak Sangh was inaugurated in the premises of VSS Nagar Club premises in the city on Sunday. The kiosk was inaugurated by Bhubaneswar North MLA Susant Kumar Rout. In the programme, the club’s president, secretary, advisor, members, intellectuals and locals were present. Locals have praised the efforts of the youth association, said Dillip Dashsharma.
BEHERA APPOINTED BKU STATE CONVENER (Pix)
Jagatsinghpur: Noted social activist and scribe Dr Sunakar Behera of Teramanpur village near Rahama under Kujanga block has been appointed as State convener of the Bharat Kissan Union (BKU), an organisation working for the upliftment of farmers across the country. BHU national president Mohammad Arshad Khan, considering Dr Behera’s leadership and social services on records, appointed him to the post.
NON-ODIA WORKER DIES IN PICT
Paradip: An accident at the Paradip International Cargo Terminal (PICT) killed a non-Odia worker while another severely injured worker was sent to the Cuttack Medical College Hospital. Helper Shahid Raja died on the spot.
LOK ADALAT IN PHULBANI: 375 CASES SETTLED
Phulbani: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Phulbani, organised the 2nd National Lok Adalat here where many criminal compoundable, NI Act, money recovery, MACT, matrimonial disputes and other civil, criminal, revenue cases were taken up. Out of a total of 578 cases, 375 cases were disposed of. The settlement amount collected was Rs 24,31,956.87.
DEFENCE PANEL VISITS HAL, SUNDABEDA (Pix)
Sunabeda: A delegation of the HAMS met the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence chairperson Jual Oram at the HAL guesthouse in Sunabeda of Koraput district. The delegation discussed about the modernisation in HAL’s Koraput division and submitted a memorandum in this connection. Oram assured the delegation to take appropriate action. The committee is scheduled to visit the HAL factory during its tour. Later, it would visit the Indian Ordinance Factory in Badmal of Balangir district and ITR, Chandipur in Baleswar district.
ABPS ACHIEVES OUTSTANDING RESULTS IN CBSE EXAM
Rayagada: The Aditya Birla Public School (ABPS) Osapada, Tikiri of Rayagada district, has achieved a remarkable feat by securing a 100%- pass percentage in the CBSE Class-X Exam 2023 for the seventh consecutive year. School Principal Rinku Banerjee announced that eight out of 18 students scored above 90% in the Class-X examination. UAIL Unit Head Mazharullah Beig expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the students for their hard work and dedication towards achieving this remarkable milestone and wished for continued success in their future endeavours.
