The body of a bear has been found in the forest of Bhanpur Beat, 2 km away from Kekadia village adjacent to Bhopal. The forest department cremated him on Sunday after conducting the post-mortem at Van Vihar National Park.
Forest officials told that the teeth and nails of the dead bear were found intact. In such a situation, the chances of getting hunted are less.
In the morning of July 16 in Kekadia village, a bear attacked an elderly Chhaganlal who had gone to the forest for defecation. Due to this the old man had died.
A bear was found dead in Bhanpur Beat-415, about 2 km from Kekadia village. However, it is not clear whether the dead bear was the one that had attacked an elder, as the presence of around 12 bears in the forest has been noticed by the forest department.
Forest Department's SDO RS Bhadoria said that due to the tiger movement, the staff of the Forest Department patrols. During this, the bear was seen dead in the drain on Saturday night. Probably the bear must have died the day before, because its carcass was bloated. The officials reached the spot this morning. The dead body was brought to Van Vihar.
Dr. Atul Gupta, Dr. Prashant Deshmukh and Dr. Amit Od conducted the post-mortem of the dead body. The body was cremated in the presence of CCF Rajesh Khare.
Officials say that the bear's nails and teeth were completely safe. In such a situation, there is less possibility of being a victim to the hunters. Samples have been taken from the body and which will be sent for test.
