In the wake of the spread of cholera across Sundargarh district, unidentified miscreants reportedly smeared black colour on the ‘Drink from Tap’ hoarding placed in the Shakti Nagar area in Rourkela city on Friday.
However, no political outfit or person claimed the responsibility of smearing black colour on the government’s hoarding.
As cholera continued spreading in the Steel City, the residents have raised questions over the standard of drinking water being supplied by the government.
On Thursday, the BJP Yuva Morcha had gheraoed the Water Corporation of Odisha (WATCO) office protesting over the disease usually spread through contaminated water.
In view of the situation, the WATCO was scheduled to address the Press on Friday but cancelled it at the last moment.
