Delhi BJP on Tuesday lambasted the Aam Aadmi Party leaders for not uttering a word on the sensitive issue of the gangrape of a Dalit woman working as a private nurse at GB Pant Hospital here.
Addressing a joint Press conference on the gangrape of a Dalit woman, Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Legislative Assembly Ramvir Singh Bidhuri and Delhi BJP Vice President Barkha Singh said AAP leaders on this incident even as the leaders pat their backs every day and spew venom against others.
“Is it because the name of the main accused is Shakir, and the Aam Aadmi Party does not want to rise above the politics of Muslim appeasement,” the BJP leaders questioned.
Bidhuri said a Dalit woman was raped in GB Pant Hospital on the night of May 1 and now it is being said gangrape took place.
“The woman was brutalised so much that a rod was inserted in her private part, there were injury marks on the woman’s head and her teeth were broken. Like Nirbhaya, this woman died on Sunday, 7th May due to this terrible incident,” Bidhuri said.
The 40-year-old woman was a resident of the trans-Yamuna area and her husband had died of cancer last year. She was taking care of her two young children who are now orphans by working as helpers at Pant Hospital.
Bidhuri has questioned the role of Aam Aadmi Party leaders in this incident.
He said that because the main accused is a Muslim, everyone is sitting silently on this incident till now.
