In a shocking incident, a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Moradabad was burnt alive after her car was hit by a speeding truck while she was returning home from Noorpur area late Monday night.

The incident took place in Nagawa Sadat area and the truck driver managed to escape from the spot.

According to reports, one Ramratan Singh’s family lives in Kanshiram Colony of Moradabad. His wife, Sarita, was BJP vice-president of Chandranagar division.

According to Ramratan, his wife, Sarita, was returning from Noorpur to her home in Moradabad in a car at around 1 o’clock on Monday night.

Sarita was alone and was driving the car herself.

As soon as the car reached in front of Kumkhiya post on Noorpur-Moradabad road, a truck coming from the front collided with the car. The car was badly damaged in the accident and also caught fire and a critically injured Sarita was trapped inside the car.

Some passers-by stopped their vehicle and alerted the police and the cops somehow brought the critically burnt Sarita out of the car and rushed her to a nearby hospital where the doctors pronounced her dead.

The identity of Sarita was confirmed after the police made a call on the last dialed number on her mobile which turned out to be of her husband Ramratan.

The cops of the Naugaon Sadat police station registered a case and launched a hunt for the truck driver who abandoned the vehicle and escaped from the spot.

In another mishap, two real sisters drowned in a pond in Mau area of Chitrakoot district.

Sources in the police said on Wednesday that Bharti (12) and her sister Anjali (7) went to take bath in the pond in Khandeha village under Mau police station on Tuesday afternoon. While bathing, both sisters went into deep water and drowned.

Later the bodies of both sisters were taken out from the pond. A case was registered and bodies were sent for autopsy.

Meanwhile, in a case of honour killing, a youth killed his sister and buried the body in Sant Kabir Nagar.

Reports said that Sirajulhaq, a resident of Chhoti Alkoholi area under Belhar police station in Sant Kabir Nagar, had three sons and three daughters. All his sons were working as labourers in Hyderabad.

His elder son, Abdul Samad, came home from Hyderabad last Friday. Samad reportedly saw his sister in an objectionable position with a youth on Tuesday morning after which he brutally assaulted her, injuring her critically.

Samad took the injured girl to a nearby hospital but she died a few hours later, so he took her body and buried it in a local orchard to conceal the crime.

In the meantime, Sirajulhaq learnt about the death of his 19-year-old daughter Nadiya Khatun, and also that his son had murdered her. On Tuesday night, he contacted the local police and revealed the entire incident.

Station Officer of the Belhar police station, Sandhya Rani Tewari, claimed that the police registered a case and exhumed the body on Wednesday morning and sent it for post-mortem.

Efforts are being made to nab Samad who is absconding.
