Senior BJP leader Bijoy Mohapatra showed a humanitarian gesture by donating a cheque amounting of Rs 1.25 lakh to Kendrapada district Collector, Amrit Ruturaj, for spending the money for the hapless needy, who applied for assistance for medical treatment and other purposes.
If sources are to be believed, the parental thatched house of Mohapatra was gutted on November 14, 2022 at Talakusuma under Patkura police station, while nobody was present in the house. Several valuable household items worth lakhs of rupees were gutted. Mohapatra received some money as compensation from the administration and he did not want to keep it for his personal use. Adding some of his savings to it, he donated the money to the district Red Cross meant for providing financial assistance to the needy. The noble gesture of Mohapatra has drawn accolades from all quarters.
