The Semi-final and final match of the ongoing BHEL Inter-unit football competition were played today on the last day of the three-day tournament at BHEL, Bhopal.
The semi-final match was played between Bhopal and Ranipet in which Bhopal defeated Ranipet 3-0. After this, the final match of the competition was played between Bhopal and Trichy unit. In the final match, Bhopal won the competition by defeating Trichy 5-1.
BK Singh, General Manager (HR) was present as the Chief guest while Rakesh Sharma, Secretary-District Football Association, Bhopal was present as the Guest of Honour in the program. Singh congratulated the winning team and all the participating teams for participating in this competition and displaying amazing team spirit and sportsmanship. Congratulating the BHEL, Bhopal team, he said that despite playing 2-2 matches on Wednesday, the enthusiasm of the Bhopal team has been at its peak. He said that in sports or in life, whoever accepts defeat first has lost and the one who is determined wins.
Congratulating all the players, he said that BHEL has a wonderful tradition and we have created our own unique identity in every field. He told the gathering that now with the arrival of the new year, we are entering the last quarter of the financial year 23-24 and we have to hoist the flag of BHEL by achieving the target of turnover with the same victorious spirit.
While praising the teams coming from all the units of BHEL, Rakesh Sharma said that this ground has given opportunity to very good players and the sporting spirit with which all the players participated in this competition deserves immense appreciation.Especially present in the program were R.F. Siddiqui, General Manager (TPTN & CET), TU Singh, Additional Manager (Urban – Administration), Rajeev Sarna, Additional General Manager (ELX), Arif Ahmed Siddiqui, Additional General Manager (HR), Narayan Tiwari, Sr Deputy General Manager (HR-Sports Authority), Prajjal Adak, Deputy General Manager (HR) and RK Jayswal, Deputy Manager (HR-IR) were present. At the end of the program, souvenirs were presented to the representatives of all the teams participating in the competition. Representatives of the winning and runner-up teams were honored with shields and individual prizes. Retiring senior players Sharafat Ali, Bhopal and Akil Haider, Jhansi unit were honoured.
