Bhadrak forum holds annual fest

The People’s Welfare Suggestion Forum,  a voluntary organisation devoted to the causes of common people, celebrated its annual function at Bhadrak.

 

Former Secretary, Works and president of the forum, Er Nanda Nandan Das presided over the meet. He appraised about his efforts to present the problems of people before the Prime Minister and other authorities. He also said the office of the Prime Minister has given him a special code, under which he corresponds. All reports sent by him are duly acknowledged by the office of the PMO and are rated as per their importance, he stated.

 

The forum felicitated novelist Professor Umasankar Misra for his writings on the plight of common men. Appreciating recognition of his talents by the forum, Prof Misra praised the activities of the forum with special reference to the activities of Dr Das. He also emphasised the role of media in the present day democracy.

 

Former Chief Engineer Gyan Prasad Das was felicitated for his dedication to public activities after retirement. 

Former Additional Director of the Public Relations Department, Odisha and secretary of the PWSF,Barada Prasanna Das while praising the activities of the forum remarked that uncontrolled growth in population is the major problem of the country and in a broader sense of the world.

A book, “Letters to the Honourable Prime Minister” written by Nanda Nandan Das was inaugurated.
